Today we are visiting the lodge at Torrey Pines, famous for its golf course.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines is located in La Jolla,  about 15 miles or a 20 minute drive north of the San Diego international airport.

There are only three Forbes-rated five-star resorts and just two four-star resorts in the San Diego region. The Lodge at Torrey Pines is a four-star rated resort.

It also has a AAA rating of 5 diamond, which is a respectable accolade, but I hold Forbe’s rating in higher esteem.

Here is a view of the main entrance this is where you’ll get dropped off or valet you’ll see the portico and the building, and of course, Torrey pine trees here’s the valet again. And yes, that man is wearing a kilt. Now now we’ll head inside we’re walking down the hall just to the right walking through the front door and that’s where their signature restaurant and bathroom is you’ll see the front desk so this is the main entrance the reception where you would check in and the great room behind it now it’s Saturday but the great news empty so although it’s not definitely large plenty of space and then off to the side of the great room is more seating and a bar so you could grab a drink have a seat now the fireplace wasn’t on when I was there but presumably at some point it does turn on and you have a view in the backdrop you’re overlooking the pool in the golf course and then here we have I just took a peek down the hallway to see where the guest rooms are and then we’ll take a peek outside just past the great room it overlooks the pool, spa, some cabanas, and the golf course behind it, and that thin blue line in the horizon, that’s the Pacific Ocean of course . There are Torrey pine trees all over the property so those are those sparsely branched pine trees you’re seeing everywhere very rare pine tree that only grows in its native habitat which is right here. I think they’re setting up a wedding Saturday that I was visiting make our way toward the golf course now up ahead there is casual dining as opposed to their signature restaurant AR Valentine which is up next to the great room down here there’s a grill likely for the players to enjoy and the first tee box and this is the golf course here we are looking back at the property the main building the pool area the guest rooms and between the guest rooms and the ocean the golf course some more years of the golf course after all that is what this resource famous for. One more time looking back at the main building the guest rooms very much lodge- type architecture to go with the theme and that is the Lodge at Torrey Pines from the exterior.
